Request from Fife Police to assist Coastguard in returning the casualty to Anstruther harbour.

ILB transferred the casualty from shore line to ALB.

ALB met by Police and other services at the west pier and transferred the casualty.

Crew recalled at 17:30 because of tidal conditions to re-house.

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to assist in shore line search for missing person.

Both lifeboats searched from Anstruther Harbour to Fife Ness on the Firth of Forth.
ILB crew changed at Crail because of poor weather conditions. Additional crew then searched the shore line with other teams.

Casualty located, by Police and Coastguard search teams on the shore line.
Lifeboats returned to re-house

Request from Anstruther Harbour Master to assist in removing a large Christmas tree that had been blown over from its location on the pier and into the harbour.
The large tree could cause a danger to vessels using the harbour.
The station mechanic / second coxswain was contacted along with the LOM and coastguard informed.
Crew at the station launched and towed the tree up the slip and made it secure.

Request from Forth Coastguard to launch on report of a person in danger on the point of St Monans pier.

ILB on route & ALB on top of slip and about to launch when stood down as the casualty had managed to get ashore himself.

The coxswain was alerted by phone from the skipper of a vessel moored in Anstruther harbour that it was taking on water.

Having inspected the vessel with the second coxswain it was decided to launch the ILB with a pump on board, plus other crew on the shore to assist in beaching the casualty and pumping out.

With the water situation under control and the vessel safely beached the ILB & crew returned to station.

Coastguard requested ALB to launch to report of a capsized boat ½ mile off Buckhaven.

ALB launched into a heavy sea with 6m swell and poor visibility in rain squalls.

ALB on scene with Fisheries Protection vessel & Northern Lighthouse Board vessels searching the given location.

Debris from road barriers found.

ALB stood down as false alarm with good intent.

The Coastguard discussed with LOM & Coxswain the request for ILB and crew to assist other rescue services
at the base of the cliffs near Pittenweem, where 27 Pilot whales had become stranded.
Crew were mustered at the Lifeboat Station while more information was being gathered on the incident.

The ILB transferred crew and salvage pump to the scene to assist the rescue operation, because of the proximity
and difficulty of road access. The coxswain and two deputy coxswains travelled to the scene by vehicle to assist.
RNLI personnel worked tirelessly through the afternoon to keep the whales cool & wet.
The incident co-ordination was by British Diver Marine life Rescue group.

The ILB was used throughout the afternoon to check on other reports of a large pod of Pilot whales close to shore at Cellardyke.

Crew remained on scene until high water and the surviving 10 whales were escorted out into the Firth of Forth.
RNLI personnel then helped the recovery of all equipment from the scene.

The whole operation was being watched by several hundred people on the cliff path and media groups.

Request from Forth Coastguard to launch ALB to report of Fishing Vessel taking on water north of the Bass Rock, Firth of Forth.

Four persons on board, nets overboard and drifting.

ALB on scene with North Berwick ILB and Dunbar ALB, pumps put aboard the casualty to stabilise the situation. Lifeboat crew on board and casualty towed back to Pittenweem harbour.

ALB towed the casualty to a berth within the harbour.

Request from Forth Coastguard to launch both boats to report of two persons injured on the Isle of May, one with suspected broken leg and second casualty with suspected shoulder injury.
Four RNLI crew First Aiders went ashore and located the casualties, first given Entonx and stretchered back to ALB, second turned out to be minor grazes and cuts, but also diabetic.

Both were check and monitored during return to Anstruther, with further Entonox being administered.

Because of low tide on the ALBs' return the casualties were safely transferred to the ILB and then the waiting NHS ambulance at the harbour.

The second casualty was checked out by paramedics and released to his waiting parents, the first being admitted to hospital for treatment.

Request from Forth Coastguard launch both boats to three kayaks off Cellardyke struggling with the weather and tired. They had set off flares and call the Coastguard by 999.

ILB located and transferred the three casualties to the ALB. They were checked over at the lifeboat station and suffering only from cold, no further assistance required.

Lifeboat First Aider's responded to a request by member of the public to a collapsed male close to the lifeboat station during the annual sailing muster at Anstruther harbour.
The casualty was disorientated and confirmed by his wife as Type 3c diabetic and suffering the symptoms of hypoglycaemia.

Lucozade was given while other medical checks were made; the casualty was vomiting excessively en-route to the lifeboat station.
Blood glucose levels were checked and found to be normal but his behaviour was still giving cause for concern.

The coxswain tried to contact HMA but he was unreachable, therefore an ambulance was called; East Neuk First responders were first on scene followed by NHS ambulance.

The casualty was examined and monitored by ambulance personnel before departing at 16:20. The casualty retuned home by road with wife & family.

Forth Coastguard requested launch to report of persons injured on the chain walk path at Elie.

Casualty located on a grass bank alongside the cliffs above the sea.

Casualty assisted down and into the ILB.

The ILB rendezvoused with the ALB standing off, to quickly obtain Entonox relief for the casualty
and then transferred to Elie harbour and waiting ambulance.

Forth Coastguard requested immediate launch of both lifeboats, to report of an ex lifeboat motor vessel named 'Princess'
having gone aground and breaking up on the rocks near to Crail on the Firth of Forth

ILB first on scene rescuing the two survivors, who were transferred to the ALB and safely landed at Anstruther harbour.

The casualty vessel had been making way in very bad weather conditions and locally poor visibility in the rain storms, when in ran aground.


NOTE
It was noted by the coxswain on scene that the helm of the ILB and his crew carried out a very difficult service in adverse weather and sea conditions.
The two casualties were rescued from the stricken vessel in shallow breaking seas of up to 3m,
all accomplished during darkness, truly outstanding knowledge and seamanship helped to produce
a successful outcome for the two casualties who's lives were in danger.

Forth Coastguard requested launch of ALB following a Mayday relay from a yacht in difficulties.

The casualty vessel had lost power and sails with two persons onboard 6 miles east of the Isle of May in poor weather conditions and very heavy swell.

Other lifeboats and Rescue helicopter 131 were searching on scene.

Casualty vessel located by R 131 and initially taken in tow by Dunbar ALB.

Tow transferred to Anstruther ALB off the Isle of May, while Dunbar ALB transferred the two cold & shaken casualties, though without injuries to Pittenweem harbour.

ALB continued the tow with two crewmen on board the casualty vessel back to Anstruther harbour.

Forth Coastguard requested launch of ILB to report of two children cut off by the tide on the breakwater at St Monans harbour.

The helm requested the ALB to launch in support of the ILB because of the local conditions.

The ILB made for the casualty location by zig-zagging the large heavy swell.
On scene the casualties were two males fishing on the breakwater with the swell washing over the breakwater at times.

A crew man was landed on the breakwater to assist in the transfer to the ILB in the heavy swell.
The casualties were safely landed at St Monans with their fishing gear and handed over to the Coastguard.

ALB stood by with blankets if required.

The ILB returned to Anstruther behind to ALB for support.

Forth Coastguard requested ALB launch to report of an elderly person injured on the Isle of May.

ALB crew located the injured woman (who was also diabetic).
First aid was given for her injuries including a possible broken ankle and the casualty transferred to the ALB with her husband.

They were safely returned to Anstruther harbour where the casualty was transferred to pontoon assisted by shore crew
and checked out by an off duty NHS technician, then handed over to ambulance staff for treatment.

Forth Coastguard requested launch of both boats to report of RIB with three persons on board stranded off the Isle of May.

ILB had launched first and was proceeding to the scene, when Coxswain was able to confirm that the casualty vessel was
actually tied up alongside the harbour and the passengers were safely ashore. ILB requested to stand down and return to Anstruther to provide cover.

ALB proceeded to the scene, took the passengers on board and towed the casualty vessel to Anstruther and relocated the RIB on its trailer.

Request from Forth Coastguard to assist a pleasure boat in difficulties, with a mechanical problem off Elie. One person on board.
ILB first on scene and took up the tow that was passed to ALB. The casualty was towed to St Monans
though insufficient water meant that the ILB had to tow the vessel into the harbour.

The casualties boarding boat was also located, towed to St Monans harbour and tied up alongside the casualty vessel.
Lifeboats returned to Anstruther, ILB re-housed and ALB tied up to Middle Pier to await sufficient tide to re-house.

Crew recalled and ALB re-housed.

On route crew informed that divers were in the water and unable to return to the boat.
ILB on scene and located two divers and transferred them to the dive boat,
with a third swimming back to the casualty vessel and one other person on board to assist

Crew established that nobody required assistance, before towing casualty into Elie harbour

A request for assistance was received by the Coxswain, from the owner of MFV Challanger sinking within Pittenweem harbour.

Three crewmembers were able to co-ordinate transporting the portable salvage pump the two miles to from the Lifeboat Station
to assist the Harbour Master, owner and skipper of the vessel, to pump out sufficiently water to enable the vessel to beach safely.

With no further assistance required the crew returned to Anstruther Lifeboat Station.
