Launch requested by MRSC Forth to report of flares
around the Billowness, near Anstruther, Firth of Forth.
ILB launched and stood down within the harbour, ALB ready to launch,
when the station was contacted by landline from crew member
who was fishing in the area and had seen Chinese lanterns over
the Billowness.
Coxswain phoned the Coastguard who were happy with the explanation
and both boats stood down.

Launch requested by MRSC Forth to report of Dive boat missing
in Largo Bay. last seen 07:00 hours.
ALB launched and proceeding to scene when it was reported that another
vessel had assisted the dive boat into Methil harbour, Lifeboat stood down,
no assistance was required.

Both lifeboats launched as requested by MRSC Forth to report of red flare
sighted off Leven. Both boats on scene and searching the area with further
report of youth playing inland and possibly setting off flare.

Both boats stood down at 20:53, ALB spotted further flare inland and
passed the bearing to Coastguard

HMCG Forth phoned LOM and Lifeboat station to request help in any way
for an injured female passenger on a RIB approaching Anstruther harbour
at low tide. Coastguard and ambulance already tasked.

RNLI crew worked with other emergency services to medivac the casualty
from the RIB to ambulance on Lifeboat slip

engine trouble and drifting to the shore off Caiplie.
ALB located the casualty, now at anchor.
ILB on scene to assist in recovering the anchor and acting as
a brake for the tow back to Anstruther harbour.

while the casualty was being towed by another FV.

by the tide. ILB launched and located two girls within ten minutes of being paged.
They were recovered to lifeboat slip, were blankets were provided, though cold & wet
no further medical attention was required

Crew first aiders transferred in poor weather conditions to stabilise the casualty, who
was transferred by ILB because of low water to waiting ambulance
within Anstruther harbour

2 miles south of the Isle of May. Casualty had managed to repair the leak when ALB
along side, transferred salvage pumps and escorted the vessel to Pittenweem harbour.

Lifeboat on exercise during the Anstruther harbour Muster, requested by crew of yacht
to give assistance while stranded in the harbour entrance.
ILB crew towed the vessel to deeper water and after checks the yacht continued

Forth Coastguard to assist two youths at the Billowness both on the rocks and in the sea in a state of distress.

MRSC Forth Coastguard after being informed by a member of the public, to a
yacht going aground in the harbour mouth at Anstruther. Helm also requested pagers
be activated in case the vessel was holed below the water line.
ILB launched and towed the vessel to deeper water, while crew checked for leaks

No further assistance required

Launch requested by MRSC to report of upturned vessel 0.75 miles off Cellardyke
as reported by first informant viewing from the shore. Lifeboats directed to location to
discover a possible tender from a larger craft with marking ‘Tabur’ The vessel was
in very poor condition and no evidence of it being serviceable.

ILB transported the vessel back to Anstruther harbour for further examination while
ALB commenced search.
Stood down at 21:35. To Pittenweem to await tide

Casualty air lifted by Rescue 131.
ALB & ILB recovered all rescue teams from remote location to Elie harbour.
ILB awaited return of Rescue 131 to recover equipment left at scene, beach cleared for landing

Coxswain decided to take both boats because of low tide, in case of difficulties entering Kirkhaven harbour on the Isle of May.

Casualty assessed and transported by ALB to Anstruther harbour entrance, where because of low tide
he was transferred to ILB and handed over to waiting doctor and ambulance crew for treatment.

Coxswain decided to take both boats because of freshening SE wind, in case of difficulties
entering Kirkhaven harbour on the Isle of May.
Porpoise calf in the hands of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue patrol (BDMLRP)
on the Isle of May, when Coastguard requested launch.
Lifeboats launched and tied up to the middle Pier within Anstruther harbour to await vets.
Calf had lost contact with parent; vets decided that the only solution was to put the calf down.
Vets returned by Lifeboat to Anstruther

20:04 Request from Forth Coastguard to launch to report
of paraglider going down into the Firth of Forth off Fife Ness.
ILB on scene and commenced initial search.
ALB took role of 'on scene commander' to co-ordinate the search
pattern given, with the assistance of Broughty Ferry lifeboats and 
helicopter Rescue 131
Additional fuel and crew change were taken by road, by the shore crew 
for a rendezvous at Fife Ness.
Nothing found the lifeboats stood down at 1:00 on 20/04/09 to resume at first light.
ILB retuned to station and ALB kept afloat at Pittenweem harbour

10:04 Request from the Harbour Master to assist a small
creel boat sinking in Anstruther harbour.
Coastguard alerted by coxswain and crew paged to assist.
Two pumps were put aboard the casualty and kept afloat by the crew,
while safely beaching the vessel
The vessel was made safe and pollution restriction measures
taken by the crew

14:15 Request from Forth Coastguard to launch on report of an inflated
lifejacket being found by the harbour master on the beach to west of the harbour.
ILB searched off the beach to the west while ALB searched to the east
towards Crail.
Coastguard stood down the search assuming the lifejacket had been off the 
yacht recently sunk in the harbour.

18:10 Request from Forth Coastguard to launch ILB for 3 persons 
onboard a yacht 'Lovely Lady of Leith' that had run aground at 
Anstruther harbour entrance and required immediate assistance.

As the yacht was taking on water the three crew were quickly taken to safety.

The ILB retuned to station for pumps to try and re-float the vessel,
the ALB was also launched but unable to keep the vessel afloat.

It was eventually able to move it slightly from the harbour entrance and secure it to
the west pier. 
ALB re-housed at 23:50
