19:43 Request from Forth MRSC to launch on report of red flare off Crail
and search the area from Crail to Fifeness 2 miles off shore. Both boat launched
and proceeded to search area.
After investigation by the Coastguard it was concluded that either a flare had been set off
from land or a firework seen by the first informant, they then called of the search.
20:50 back in Anstruther ready for service

18:43 Request from Forth MRSC to assist a 11m steel yacht off Cockenzie that required
towing to Granton due to deteriorating weather & draught. ALB launched and on scene at 20:25.
Kinghorn ILB was standing by but unable to effect tow, due to size. The ALB also escorted the ILB back to Kinghorn because of one engine failure. 01:00 10/09/05 ALB back in Pittenween to await tide for re-house. 09:20 back in Anstruther

DATE:  Sunday 4th September 2005

14:55 Request from Forth MRSC to immediately assist a diving RIB and the 4 persons
aboard having run aground on rocks in thick fog 2 miles east of Anstruther.
Both boats diverted from exercise and cautiously headed to the location given
the ILB assisting the ALB crew in shallow water between rocks. The casualty was located & the crew assisted to shore.
16:30 The dive boat was towed safely to Anstruther harbour.

11:57 Request from Forth MRSC to assist 9m Yacht mid way across 
the Firth of Forth with two adults aboard having difficulties with the steerage
and adverse weather. North Berwick ILB had been proceeding but released
due to weather conditions by the Coastguard. ALB launched and located the casualty, crewman put aboard to take charge
Casualty towed safely to Anstruther harbour No further assistance required.

16:36 Request from Forth MRSC to assist 9m Yacht with steering gear problems
reported 4 mile off Pitenweem, Firth of Forth with one adult aboard. 
ALB launched and located the casualty east of Anstruther using direction finder, 
crewman put aboard and temporary repair made.
Casualty continued under its own power escorted by ALB to Pittenweem harbour.
No further assistance required. ALB returned to Anstruther to await tide, Crew recalled at 22:30 to rehouse.

off Fife Ness, Firth of Forth with one adult & two teanagers aboard. 
 ALB launched at low tide, located the casualty and towed safely to Anstruther harbour.
No further assistance required. Lifeboat rehoused at 15:00hrs on rising tide.

observed Yacht waving for assistance on approach to the harbour - on investigation the

in difficulties off the Isle of May and the dive boat with mechanical problem. ALB & ILB quickly launched (ILB in water 3 min after pager alert - crew at station!)
both boats on scene, diver safely back in dive boat and eventually started.
12:30 Casualty & five on board safely in Anstruther harbour, escorted by the lifeboats.
